Sal Klutch better known as DJ Klutch was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 20th, 1980. At the tender age of 2, Sal’s parents (Albanian descendants) moved to Staten Island which would eventually become the birth place of his immense passion for music.
Sal Klutch started DJ’ing at 15 years old with influences by the likes of DJ AM, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Funk Master Flex, DJ Riz and DJ Sizzahandz. His first big break in the industry was just 1 year after he embarked on the Jockey journey spinning at NYC’s Limelight Tunnel and Sound factory all in the same year.
Since then, Klutch has played in every city imaginable as well as toured Tokyo for an entire 2 months. He held residencies in Las Vegas at Rok Vegas, Jet, Wet Republic and Haze nightclub. Klutch is currently the resident DJ at Mister East, Highline Ballroom in New York City, Avenue in Long Branch, New Jersey and Providence in Atlantic City. Furthermore, has started a production group alongside Mike Cash known as Electric Bodega. They have received press from major publications such as Complex Magazine, Vibe, Playboy as well as numerous prominent blogs including Frendy Lemorin’s “Frendy Says”. The budding production duo has reached a whopping 1 million plays on Soundcloud in just one year!
