Hector Romero has been a DJ and music executive for more than thirty years. From early jobs working in record stores to running David Morales’ Def Mix imprint via day to day operations of SAW.RECORDINGS alongside fellow legend Satoshi Tomiie, it’s been quite the journey for Hector. Early DJ forays came at clubs like Palladium, Roxy as well as The Red Zone in Manhattan. There are few countries he hasn’t played, from Italy to Greece, Mexico to Spain, North to South America, he’s done every big festival and all the famous clubs, forever staying true to his inner eclecticism.

A music obsessive at heart, Hector also has a hand in many different radio and internet shows, including being resident DJ for Def Mix Radio, running his own monthly podcast for iTunes and appearing regularly as a guest on Paris’ FG radio, subbing for Morales while holding down a monthly spot on Italy’s Radio 105. House music is at the heart of everything he does, but it comes in many different shapes, styles and sizes. Hector is not afraid to showcase it all at the same time, inviting hallowed guests to appear like fellow Def Mixers David Morales and Frankie Knuckles. Most recently the man has been honing his production and remixing skills, working with numerous established producers. The results include his remix of David Morales’ single ‘Stay’ on Ultra Records that soon became a dance floor favourite.
