Chris was told by his mentor Roger Sanchez to build up his profile, and that is exactly what he did. With the success of “Work it to the bone”, ” I wanna freak you” and “One more time” Chris made his introduction. However with the release of his smash bootleg of the Justice/Simian Mobile Disco hit “We Are Your Friends”, Chris Moody demanded the scene’s attention. The bootleg brought all eyes on Chris, as it appeared in Tiesto’s top 20 of 2010 with massive support from Tiesto, Sanchez, and Swedish House Mafia. In 2011 Chris was busy in the studio remixing big projects for names like Roger Sanchez, Steve Angello, One Republic, and Tiesto… just to name a few.
2012 started off just right for Chris Moody with Tiesto showcasing his new single “Rock Me” on his world renowned “Tiesto’s Club Life” podcast. Chris also started¬ a new group with long time friend DJ Riz called SikDuo, and will be working on various genres of dance music. NYC’s Chris Moody has a reputation as a talented and dynamic artist. Years of hard work as both a producer and DJ have earned him a residency at the legendary Pacha NYC, as well as gigs around the world with the biggest names in the biz.
With his infectious and signature drum sound, Chris keeps the dance floor begging for more. In 2010 Chris showcased his talents to the Mecca of all things house- Ibiza, spinning numerous times along side Roger Sanchez during his famed 10th Anniversary shows at Amnesia. Needless to say, the inhabitants of the “white isle” went crazy over house music’s next big thing.
Hailing from Queens, NYC, Chris’ earliest interest in music surfaced on his fourteenth birthday when his father – a fellow musician – handed him a set of turntables and ignited his desire to become a DJ. “We worked private parties together”. He would sing and I would DJ. With this instilled in him, Chris embarked on a melodic mission working local clubs and parties while generating a reputation as a talented and dynamic artist that would gain him respect and forge his way into the music business.
By mixing at some of NYC’s most reputable dance clubs including Limelight, Roxy and Crobar – and holding down a four-year residency at the famed Webster Hall – Chris’ standing as a top-notch DJ had emerged and propelled him into collaborations with such prominent names in the industry as DJ Skribble. Before long Chris and Skribble were producing the hottest Saturday night dance party on 103.5 KTU, booking internationally acclaimed DJs such as Pete Tong, Todd Terry, and Jellybean Benitez. A contagious success, Chris produced the Skribble show for two consecutive years, airing six nights a week. But it was when Chris partnered up to produce with friend and fellow DJ, Adam Ruiz – better known as DJ Mada –that the young artist fused his creativity into club anthems such as “Blackout,” featured on Louie Devito’s NYC Underground Volume 3 – which sold nearly one million copies. Chris would later hook up with Devito to produce Deeper and Harder Volumes 2 & 3.
Mounting from the hottest clubs in NYC and Miami Beach to Spain’s pulsating island of Ibiza, Chris’s track record of titillating audiences intensified through his production, which still allows him to share the sounds of fellow musical masterminds with party goers around the globe and amplify the house experience to a greater capacity.
